Curiosity is the spark that leads to discovery. Every great invention, from the telescope to the microscope, began with one simple question: “How does this work?” Islam encourages this very spirit of questioning and exploration. The Qur’an repeatedly invites believers to think, observe, and reflect upon the world around them.
In Surah Al-Ghashiyah (88:17–20), Allah asks:
“Do they not look at the camels, how they were created? And at the sky, how it is raised? And at the mountains, how they are set up? And at the earth, how it is spread out?”
These verses are not just poetic expressions. They are divine invitations to scientific observation. Allah calls us to look deeply into His creation, to understand its systems and harmony, and through that, recognize His greatness.
Science and faith are not separate paths. When a believer studies nature, he is not just learning about the universe, he is witnessing the signs of Allah. True scientific curiosity should lead us closer to our Creator, not away from Him. Islam was the first to make knowledge a sacred duty, turning curiosity into an act of worship.
The Qur’an encourages us to keep asking, keep exploring, and never stop wondering. Every discovery, whether it’s in the depth of the ocean or the vastness of space, whispers the same truth that Allah’s signs are endless, waiting for curious minds to uncover them.
سائنس اور تجسس – غور و فکر کا قرآنی حکم
تجسس یا جستجو وہ چنگاری ہے جو علم اور دریافت کا دروازہ کھولتی ہے۔ دنیا کی ہر بڑی ایجاد، خواہ وہ دوربین ہو یا خوردبین، ایک سادہ سے سوال سے شروع ہوئی کہ یہ کیسے کام کرتا ہے؟ اسلام اسی سوچنے اور سوال کرنے کی روح کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتا ہے۔ قرآنِ کریم بار بار انسان کو غور و فکر، مشاہدہ اور تدبر کی دعوت دیتا ہے۔
سورۃ الغاشیہ (88:17–20) میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں:
“کیا وہ اونٹ کی طرف نہیں دیکھتے کہ اسے کس طرح پیدا کیا گیا؟ اور آسمان کی طرف کہ اسے کس طرح بلند کیا گیا؟ اور پہاڑوں کی طرف کہ انہیں کس طرح گاڑ دیا گیا؟ اور زمین کی طرف کہ اسے کس طرح بچھایا گیا؟”
یہ آیات صرف شاعرانہ الفاظ نہیں بلکہ علم و سائنس کی طرف بلانے والے پیغام ہیں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیں اپنی مخلوقات میں جھانکنے، ان کے نظام کو سمجھنے اور ان کے توازن پر غور کرنے کا حکم دیتے ہیں تاکہ ہم اُس کی عظمت کو پہچان سکیں۔
سائنس اور ایمان دو الگ راستے نہیں ہیں۔ جب ایک مومن فطرت کا مطالعہ کرتا ہے تو وہ صرف کائنات کو نہیں بلکہ اللہ کی نشانیوں کو دیکھ رہا ہوتا ہے۔ حقیقی علمی جستجو انسان کو اپنے خالق کے قریب کرتی ہے، اُس سے دُور نہیں۔ اسلام نے علم حاصل کرنا عبادت قرار دیا، یعنی تجسس کو عبادت کا حصہ بنا دیا۔
قرآن ہمیں حکم دیتا ہے کہ سوال کرتے رہو، تلاش کرتے رہو، اور حیرت کرنا کبھی مت چھوڑو۔ ہر دریافت، چاہے وہ سمندر کی گہرائیوں میں ہو یا آسمان کی وسعتوں میں، ایک ہی حقیقت بیان کرتی ہے کہ اللہ کی نشانیاں بے شمار ہیں، بس دیکھنے والی آنکھ چاہیے۔
